Being wooden, the boat’s annual upkeep is important but the cost will vary greatly according to whether you ‘do it yourself ‘ or employ professional boat yards.

Many owners choose to do their own maintenance and keep the cost reasonable. Indeed a number of owners have carried out the restoration of their boats so use of the professionals is not essential.

For those who do not or where larger, more specialized jobs are required, there are various local boatyards, boatbuilders and repairers who regularly work with XODs. Information on these can be obtained from the local Division or our Suppliers webpage.

Moorings are usually available at reasonable cost either from the local yacht Club or Harbour Commissioners.
